The “partitioning age” not the information age.
The world has evolved in periods tagged ages, based on the initial activities that birthed the chain reaction of other activities, and therefore ages! The founding age is the Stone Age which later birthed the Bronze, Iron, Industrial Ages, and now the Information Age. Having been born and raised in this age just like all of you, am persuaded that this age is rather a “partitioning age” but not an information age as tagged by many!
Not that I seek to undermine the many merits humanity has scooped from this age; but rather determined to open our minds to the greatest resource the partitioning age has siphoned out of humanity as it brought forth and continues to bring forth large scores of divisive information. Observing a lawyer friend who is married to a doctor, and she’s blessed with a son and daughter; allow me to share with you how the “partitioning age” has stolen the best of her. Growing up with this friend as children in this age, yet living outside this age; as children, we had one life to live with one mind to carry and one set of human beings to care for, so every advice that was given to us applied to every area of our lives. The attention we paid to teachers in schools is the same attention we offered to elders at home and our siblings during playtime; the same way we dressed for church was the same way we dressed for parties and school-because we knew smartness to be objective, not subjective. But as my lawyer friend grew and became more acquainted with information, her life began to metamorphose and eventually evolved to having six different lives she lived. She lived a different life as a wife, mother to a boy, mother to a girl, lawyer, employee, and friend; and therefore was fortunate to have large volumes of information to birth and sustain all these lives, and the various conditions of life they exclusively carry.
The greatest folly of this partitioning age is to make men think they have more than one life to show depending on the environment! That’s not so in reality, because you know you have one life to live everywhere! The simplicity of life is that we ought to have the singularity of the mind. As a Christian-I uphold the same value of loving others whether as a child at home, employee, investor, church member, passerby, …. everywhere I am and will ever Be-I owe humanity love. That’s my mind towards those I know and don’t know. Large numbers of infirmities that have risen in this age are as a result of many lives to be lived!
If you are blessed by God, then you are blessed in every area of your life and you ought to know that. If you are a lover, then you are to carry that love everywhere too! Starting today, please purpose to only read literature that promotes your life has a single life! If a book on finance does teach you only how to save money, and not save friendships, marriages, lives, and all other areas of your one life-then, it is not teaching you anything-but rather dividing you up, and divided you fall! The Bible is one book that speaks to every area of one’s life in every single verse of that Holy Book! Choose to unite your mind and life this day, and surely, united you stand!
